- One of the chapters introduced the topic of childhood sexual abuse, given that the book is an examination of a utopian society, were you surprised/shocked to encounter this topic in a science fiction genre and do you think it good or bad to cross boundaries?

I like SF, mainly Isaac Asimov, Franck Herbert, Philip K. Dick, René Barjavel, oh boy so many!
I wouldn't be shocked by a childhood sexual abuse topic in a novel, it's also reality…
Quilting Patchwork & Appliqué
I read SF – Philip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke among others. I've enjoyed bits of Train Wreck along the way and have left the odd comment. The great thing about SciFi is exploring themes from the real world, so sexual abuse is not off limits, and is a very current theme to tackle, provided it is done sensitively. I think I would enjoy Hawaii 2 in the main and would look forward to reading a finished book.

Is William Gibson science fiction? He is my favorite. I used one of his titles for my pattern design blog, which has nothing to do with science fiction.
